Mark and Lukas have always had infectious and charismaticĀ personalities for as long as I’ve known them, both as business owners and volunteers in the Wayne community, and as friends. I was honored to take their engagement photos, along with their good friend Chele.
Photo Shoots
I had the extreme pleasure getting to photograph Cynthia and Kevin’s wedding! What made this wedding so personal and unique was how family oriented the entire event was. To the bride and groom, the day wasn’t about them, it was about both of their families. Everyone being together. Children, grandchildren, and their interactions with each other were what made this particular wedding so much fun! Congratulations, Kevin and Cynthia! I hope your families continue to celebrate your love for many years to come! Here are some of my favorite shots of the Gothier Wedding.
I had a great time working with Tessie during her senior photo session! We had a blast being silly and jamming to music in the studio, and strolling around Wayne, Nebraska and the Wayne State campus for some outdoor photos. Tessie has a very charismatic personality, and I hope she has a fantastic senior year! Here are some of my favorite shots of Tessie’s session in Wayne!
I remember when Tom and Kristin first met. I ran into Kristin at a summer event, and she glowingly told me she had met someone…at a wedding of all places. (I’m sensing some foreshadowing.)
I finally got to meet this famous Tom that made Kristin so happy, and when I did I knew he was the perfect fit! Very easy to talk with, smart, energetic, passionate, all traits I admire in Kristin as well.
Months later, I got a messageĀ from Tom. He was going to propose to Kristin, and asked me to take some photos of that big moment. OF COURSE I agreed, but the bigger challenge was going to be keeping the secret. And because karma wanted to see me give it my best shot, I saw Kristin two days before the proposal date, did EVERYTHING I could to hold me tongue, and I boastfully succeeded. š Phew! The Psota boys were such fun to photograph! The boys were completely in their element playing outside, filling up a tin bucket with gravel and pretending to be “bad boy” super heroes! We even got a picture with a street sign named after their family. Here are some of my favorite shots from this children’s photography session!
I had the immense pleasure of getting to work with a family recently as they celebrated a first communion of one of their young children.
When speaking with the parents about booking details before the session, I had no idea this would soon become an atypical family photo shoot.
Aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, siblings, and grandparents all came to the session that day, and of course, so did our young lady at the forefront of this religious occasion, stunning white gown and all.
As 12 family members entered my studio, my mind began reeling in panic, “Where am I going to fit all these people?!”
I quickly realized that even though I was worried about how I’d get everyone in the shot and how the final photos would look, that wasn’t the point that day.
Not only were we celebrating a significant milestone in this young lady’s life, but I was completely taken aback at how supportive and involved the entire family was in this girl’s life. Everyone wanted to be there for her that day, and they all stood proudly next to one another in every photo.
The point of that session wasn’t the product. It wasn’t the photos. It wasn’t making sure I got everyone in the shot (though that’s important, too).
It was the love and pride every member of this family showed for each other, and how important it was for them to be able to remember this special day together, that made these photos beautiful.

I had a great time with Lee and Sarah during their engagement session! It was such a laid-back and easy-going afternoon. We took a light walk around Wayne to find different sites to use as backgrounds, and enjoyed casual conversation while we took photos. I even found a worn down shed that I think is now going to be one of my favorite spots! I’m anxious to work with Lee and Sarah again when I shoot their wedding!
Here are some of my favorite shots taken during Lee and Sarah’s Engagement Session:
We had an absolutely perfect February Saturday for an engagement session with Jon and Ambre! I’m usually expecting 20 mph winds and blowing snow (it’s Nebraska after all), but the sun was out, it was warm, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day!
I really enjoyed working with Jon and Ambre. What a fun couple! They have a great energy together, and always seem to be smiling and making each other laugh–makes my job easy! Their goofy faces caught on camera would make for a great bloopers reel! Continue Reading
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Kelsie during her senior photo sessions! We had two sessions together: one in the studio for her composite shots, sports set-ups, and some cute feminine poses; the other in the fall outdoors to show Kelsie’s true personality and inner country girl!
All of Kelsie’s photos are fantastic, but she really rocked the camera when we went to the country. Growing up on a ranch myself, there’s something to be said about being in a setting you have a deep connection to. When you can capture that connection through the camera, the resulting photos will be your favorites by far.
Here are some of my favorite country shots of this super senior!
I had an absolute blast (not a blast of heat, trust me) with Tom and Kristin during their engagement photo session! I contacted the bride-to-be beforehand, expressing concerns with the freezing and snowy forecast, but we decided to go ahead with our initial plan.
Best. Decision. EVER!
