I remember when Tom and Kristin first met. I ran into Kristin at a summer event, and she glowingly told me she had met someone…at a wedding of all places. (I’m sensing some foreshadowing.)
I finally got to meet this famous Tom that made Kristin so happy, and when I did I knew he was the perfect fit! Very easy to talk with, smart, energetic, passionate, all traits I admire in Kristin as well.
Months later, I got a message from Tom. He was going to propose to Kristin, and asked me to take some photos of that big moment. OF COURSE I agreed, but the bigger challenge was going to be keeping the secret. And because karma wanted to see me give it my best shot, I saw Kristin two days before the proposal date, did EVERYTHING I could to hold me tongue, and I boastfully succeeded. 🙂 Phew!
The next step of the engagement was the engagement pictures, which we charged through valiantly in a foot of snow, freezing temperatures, and steadily falling snowflakes. Some hot cocoa with extra marshmallows was definitely a helpful incentive to keep going, but it was a great day. We had a blast and ended up with fantastic pictures!
The following spring, with much nicer weather, I was taking photos at their wedding day, honored to be capturing the moments when they first see each other in their tux and gown, say their vows, cut their wedding cake, and share their first dance! It was a beautiful day for two beautiful people!
There’s something really special about seeing a story unfold from start to finish, especially when it features two people who mean a lot to you. I am beyond happy that Tom and Kristin found each other, got engaged, and sealed the deal with a kiss at the altar!
