I had an absolute blast (not a blast of heat, trust me) with Tom and Kristin during their engagement photo session! I contacted the bride-to-be beforehand, expressing concerns with the freezing and snowy forecast, but we decided to go ahead with our initial plan.
Best. Decision. EVER!
I won’t lie to you, we froze! But the conditions were perfect for photos. The snow fell gently in soft, thick flakes, without a puff of wind to create a blizzard-like, blurry photograph. The snow settled on the couple’s hair, without melting and making it wet. The sun peaked through just enough to create vibrant colors against a bright white background.
We found ways to stay warm between snapshots, like the thick blanket that also made a cute and cozy prop. I have to credit my husband, who accompanied me during the shoot, for all the blankets he carried for us to stay warm and the cloths he held on to for me to wipe off my camera every 5 to 10 minutes.
My husband was also great about cracking jokes to make the couple laugh. 🙂 Those pictures are my favorite! Getting your subjects in their element and allowing them to let their true personalities shine always allows for the best photographs!
If you don’t know this couple, you’ll know from the personalities in these photos that Tom and Kristin love to smile together…
be silly together…
and they’ll forever be happy together.
Congrats, Tom and Kristin, on your engagement! I can’t wait to capture all the moments of your wedding day!
