One of the most special parts of my photography business is being able to work with clients who have already been friends of mine for many years.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all of my clients, new or returning. And I certainly encourage the new to become returning (hint hint, wink wink, smiley face)
But I seem to experience a deeper connection with those I have known before I start taking their pictures.
I know their likes and dislikes, where they come from, their plans for the future, and past memories we’ve shared together. We are even able to recall those memories in the casual moments of our photo session.
I’m also able to see them grow.
I had one of these special opportunities with my friend Lacey.
Lacey and I went to college together. We laughed together in class, worked together at the radio station, and complained about homework to each other. Even after graduation, we continued to stay friends.
I got to be there at her wedding, when she said “I do” to the love of her life, Jeff, and danced the night away with friends and family.
I was also blessed with taking photos of her newborn son, almost a year later.
These are the moments I never anticipated when opening my business. Complete and utter happiness with continuing to be a part of not just a client, but a friend’s life. Photography is just a unique way for me to do so.
And I hope, now, that I can continue to be a part of her life with the growth of her child and her family.
Congrats on your new miracle, Lacey and Jeff, and let’s stay in touch! 🙂
